"This is a course in miracles. It is a required course. Only the time you take it is voluntary. Free will does not mean that you can establish the curriculum. It means only that you can elect what you want to take at a given time. The course does not aim at teaching the meaning of love, for that is beyond what can be taught. It does aim, however, at removing the blocks to the awareness of love's presence, which is your natural inheritance. The opposite of love is fear, but what is all-encompassing can have no opposite.

This course can therefore be summed up very simply in this way:
Nothing real can be threatened.
Nothing unreal exists.
Herein lies the peace of God."
T. Introduction

"Revelation is intensely personal and cannot be meaningfully translated.
That is why any attempt to describe it in words is impossible. Revelation
induces only experience."
T. 5/5

"An untrained mind can accomplish nothing."
W. 1/1

"Miracles are natural. When they do not occur something has gone wrong."
T. 1/1

"I am never upset for the reason I think."
W. Lesson 5

"A miracle is a service. It is the maximal service you can render to
another. It is a way of loving your neighbor as yourself. You recognize your
own and your neighbor's worth simultaneously."
T. 2/2

"Old ideas about time are very difficult to change, because every thing you
believe is rooted in time, and depends on your not learning these new ideas
about it. Yet that is precisely why you need new ideas about time."
W. Lesson 7

"Our emphasis is now on healing. The miracle is the means, the Atonement is
the principle, and healing is the result."
T. 19/23

"The truth is that you are responsible for what you think, because it is
only at this level that you can exercise choice."
T. 25/29

"The innocence of God is the true state of the mind of His Son. In this
state your mind knows God, for God is not symbolic; He is Fact."
T. 34/38

"Consciousness, the level of perception, was the first split introduced into
the mind after the separation, making the mind a perceiver rather than a
creator. Consciousness is correctly identified as the domain of the ego. The
ego is a wrong-minded attempt to perceive yourself as you wish to be, rather
than as you are. Yet you can know yourself only as you are, because that is
all you can be sure of. Everything else is open to question."
T. 37/42

"Forgiveness is the healing of the perception of separation. Correct
perception of your brother is necessary, because minds have chosen to see
themselves as separate. Spirit knows God completely. That is its miraculous
power. The fact that each one has this power completely is a condition
entirely alien to the world's thinking. The world believes that if anyone
has everything, there is nothing left. But God's miracles are as total as
His Thoughts because they are His Thoughts."
T. 41/46

"Only the oneness of knowledge is free of conflict. Your Kingdom is not of
this world because it was given you from beyond this world. Only in this
world is the idea of an authority problem meaningful. The world is not left
by death but by truth, and truth can be known by all those for whom the
Kingdom was created, and for whom it waits."

"You can speak from the spirit or from the ego, as you choose. If you speak
from spirit you have chosen to "Be still and know that I am God". These
words are inspired because they reflect knowledge. If you speak from the ego
you are disclaiming knowledge instead of affirming it, and are thus
dis-spiriting yourself. Do not embark on useless journeys, because they are
indeed in vain."
T. 47/52

"My thoughts are images that I have made."
It is because the thoughts you think you think appear as images that you do
not recognize them as nothing. You think you think them, and so you think
you see them. This is how your "seeing" was made. This is the function you
have given your body's eyes. It is not seeing. It is image making. It takes
the place of seeing, replacing vision with illusions.
W. Lesson 15

"Spirit need not be taught, but the ego must be. Learning is ultimately
perceived as frightening because it leads to the relinquishment, not the
destruction, of the ego to the light of spirit."
T. 48/53

"Above all else I want to see."
W. Lesson 27

"I am not the victim of the world I see."
W. Lesson 31

"God is praised whenever any mind learns to be wholly helpful.....The truly
helpful are God's miracle workers, whom I direct until we are all united in
the joy of the Kingdom."
T. 65/71

"There is another way of looking at the world."
'Remember to apply today's idea the instant you are aware of distress.'
W. Lesson 33

"Peace of mind is clearly an internal matter. It must begin with your own
thoughts, and then extend outward."
W. Lesson 34

"........it is your will not to be alone.........If you will bless him in
time, you will be in eternity. Time cannot separate you from God if you use
it on behalf of the eternal."
T. 186/200

"How can I be alone when God always goes with me? How can I be doubtful and
unsure of myself when perfect certainty abides in Him? How can I be
disturbed by anything when he rests in me in absolute peace? How can I
suffer when love and joy surround me through Him? Let me not cherish
illusions about myself. I am perfect because God goes with me wherever I
Lesson 59

"Your recognition that whatever seems to separate you from God is only fear,
regardless of the form it takes and quite apart from how the ego wants you
to experience it, is therefore the basic ego threat."
T. 190/204

"The ego analyzes; the Holy Spirit accepts."
T. 190/205

"The Bible tells you to become as little children. Little children recognize
that they do not understand what they perceive, and so they ask what it
means. Do not make the mistake of believing that you understand what you
perceive, for its meaning is lost to you. Yet the Holy Spirit has saved its
meaning for you, and if you will let Him interpret it, He will restore to
you what you have thrown away."
T. 196/211

"Would you not exchange your fears for truth, if the exchange is yours for
the asking?"
T. 199/214

"Have confidence in your Father today, and be certain that He has heard you
and answered you. You may not recognize His answer yet, but you can indeed
be sure that it is given you and you will yet receive it."
Lesson 69

"When you realize that all guilt is solely an invention of your mind, you
also realize that guilt and salvation must be in the same place. In
understanding this you are saved."
Lesson 70

"Since the Holy Spirit answers truly He answers for all time, which means
that everyone has the answer <now>."
T. 93/101

"Understand that you do not respond to anything directly, but to your
interpretation of it. Your interpretation thus becomes the justification for
the response. That is why analyzing the motives of others is hazardous to
you. If you decide that someone is really trying to attack you or desert you
or enslave you, you will respond as if he had actually done so, having made
his error real to you. To interpret error is to give it power, and having
done this you will overlook the truth."
T. 200/215

If your brothers are part of you and you blame them for your deprivation,
you are blaming yourself. And you cannot blame yourself without blaming
them. That is why blame must be undone, not seen elsewhere.
T. 187/201

"I am determined to see.
Recognizing the shared nature of my thoughts, I am determined to see. I
would look upon the witnesses that show me the thinking of the world has
been changed. I would behold the proof that what has been done through me
has enabled love to replace fear, laughter to replace tears, and abundance
to replace loss. I would look upon the real world, and let it teach me that
my will and the Will of God are one."
